We used to farm, raise chickens and turkeys. That’s all I ever did was stay out there on the farm. Watermelon, peas, butter beans, okra, tomatoes, sausage, all of that. My job was [to make] peaches and figs, making that pear reserve and stuff like that. It really was good. And I did that after I married and raised my children. It was hard out there in them fields working trying to see a day. If we didn’t get that work done we had to go back out there and do it. You won’t complain or you’ll get a whooping with a switch. You had to do that work honey. Back in them days people was raising children better than they raise’em now. Children raising the parents now. Everything changing. Everything change but God. God don’t never change.
